Another perspective on Italy

"As for Telecom Italia, it is an entire conglomerate founded on the Mafia principal of extortion. They have been milking their customers since the day Meucci got a dial tone."
-- from the blog Burnt by the Tuscan Sun

I found this blog while searching for other people who have had bad experiences with Telecom Italia (and there are plenty). It does a good job in detailing some of the absurdities of life in Italy and offers a nice counterperspective to the dozens of overly cheerful expatriate blogs.

Hi Ben - Thanks for linking to me but I find it kind of interesting that you feel that I don't have to work here (in Italy) - perhaps you haven't taken the time to actually read my blog or you'd know more about me and that I have a full-time job in addition to blogging.

I don't think it's a crime to write about what you enjoy - in my case, food and travel. That does not mean that life in Italy is wonderful and idyllic - it means that I choose not to write about it.

Hi Sara - Sorry for mischaracterizing your employment status. That was not my intention. In fact, I haven't actually read your entire blog, but do visit occasionally to look at the recipes and delicious-looking photographs.
In fact, food and travel are some of the things I enjoy most as well, and I hope you can get the impression from my blog that Italy is as good a place as any to be for those. However, I choose not to limit my blogging to the positive sides, but want to give my friends (who after all, this blog is for), an impression of what my life is like. To each his own.
